Volunteering

Being a leader is fun – it’s an exciting challenge with the chance to make a massive difference to the lives of young people.

Volunteering in Scouting is easy and flexible – how much time you give is completely up to you. Whether you help out once a fortnight, month or term or just at special events or camps, there is a role you can play.

You don’t have to be a ‘superhero’ or expert. Do you enjoy being outdoors? Are you good with numbers? Enjoy water activities? Handy in the kitchen? A DIY whizz? We all have skills and you can volunteer and help in many ways.

So, could you help us?

  • The majority of our Leaders have full time jobs and a family – we’re all busy!
  • All our Leaders are covered by a comprehensive insurance policy while taking part.
  • Leaders get involved because they want to have fun and make new friends.
  • Many of our helpers and leaders are parents of our youth members because they’ve seen first-hand how Scouting benefits young people and want to give something back.

The one thing that unites our Leaders is the energy and enthusiasm they have for giving young people the adventure of Scouting.

Let us know if you can help.
